Over the years, I have been able to acquire different skills in ICT (Computing) which I have listed below from different organisations. Presently I work with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Support Services Department as an ICT Officer. Before moving to the public sector (local government authority) l was in the educational sector working in HE/FE (higher and further education) Colleges. I was with Boston College in Lincolnshire with their Computer Services Unit (CSU) as an ICT Technician working with Enterprise solutions mainly on Microsoft's platform exploring and implementing Microsoft's latest technologies some of which are MS Exchange 2010 server, Windows Server 2008, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 and also implemented some key projects like Campus WiFi using Ruckus Wireless Solution, helpdesk call logging database using MS Access 2007 Database. From July, 2008 till September, 2009 I was aslo with North Lindsey College ICT Department as an ICT Support Officer/HD where I pioneered the use of MS Outlook for ESOL course work for learners and also with the department for Higher Education/ Professional Development as a part-time computing lecturer delivering HND final year course in Server Technology (Client-Side/Server-Side scripting using VBscript, MS Visual Web Developr, MS SQL, MS Access and XML). I worked with the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna, Austria from June, 07 to July, 08 where I implemented an IP Telephony project using Cisco Unified Communication solution and engaged in end-user training of the telephony system. From November, 2006 to May, 2007 I worked with the University of Worcester (Part-Time) while studying for my MSc in Computing. In 2005 from September to August of 2006 I worked with the Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc in Sokoto, Nigeria and before then I was with the Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas Company (Bonny gas Plant, Bonny Island), Nigeria from May, 2003 to August, 2004 amongst others not listed. The experiences acquired from each of these organisations can not be quantified. However, learning is a continuous process so I continue to learn from daily activities, experiences and challenges because it brings together a complete blend of profesional challenges. Below is a list of some of my skills and technologies I have worked with while learning continously to keep abreast with the latest changes in the world of ICT technologies. Computer Skills Hardware knowledge
My harware knowledge involves repairs, changing or faulty parts (assembling and dis-assembling), fault troubleshooting and general hardware maintenance. Network Knowledge
This includes configuration of routers and switches, subneting, configuring NICs and troubleshooting TCP/IP related faults in-line with the OSI (Open Systems Inter-connection) model. Knowledge of Windows OS & Microsoft Technology
This includes OS installation, configuration, repairs, maintenance and documentation. Providing training to end-users and customers highlighting differences between OSs, features and GUI. Deploying OS images using ghost, Windows Server 2008 WDS & MDT and also SCCM 2007 & MDT 2010 integration. Web design Program Language Knowledge
This includes web designing using the above languages for both static and dynamic data-driven websites, content management using renowned web authoring tools like dreamweaver, MS Visual Web Developer, Macromedia Contribute amongst others Software and Application Knowledge
This includes aplication installation, setup & configuration, torubleshooting, maintenance and repairs. For Moodle, this includes integration with active directory/LDAP, content managements, applying themes, Application system administration and general maintenance, backups and repairs PC Remote Management Tools
This involves the general usage of the above management tools in providing ICT everyday support and administration of systems and accounts . |
